In telling a story online many news media incorporate multimedia storytelling. Multimedia is when different elements such as videos and photos are incorporated into a story to give further information.
The Knight Digital Media Center gives students and professionals information about the world of Online Journalism through tutorials, blogs, and workshops. One of the tutorials offered is titled What is a Multimedia Story? This tutorial describes the ways that journalists can incorporate multimedia into their online stories appropriately. The tutorial gives examples of the proper ways that multimedia has been utilized in the media and the benefits that such added information can afford.
The tutorials breaks down the steps of composing a multimedia story including choosing a story, figuring out the components and what media form will work best, and storyboarding.
