To think that racism is still prevalent in America and that people would want to kill over race is a sad thought. This was nonetheless the type of situations that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama must face.
An article on the Arizona news site AZ Central reported that two skinheads plotted to assassinate Obama and about a hundred African Americans. The two young men, one 18 and the other 20, were discovered and arrested by the ATF. They were charged with threatening a candidate for president and a few other gun-related charges.
Not only was it a total shock to see this story on the news site, I almost didn't believe it! I was on USA Today and The New York Times and the story was not as apparent and big as on AZ Central. USA Today had the story small and towards the bottom of the homepage and The New York Times didn't have the story at all! The Miami Herald was another site that I checked and was happy to see they had updated their homepage and placed this story big. I think this is a story that is so important for people to know and read in order for them to be informed about what types of people still live in America. I am blown away by the fact that some news sites don't even have the story.
AZCentral.com was definitely on point by making sure that this story had a prime location on their website. Now I know where to get important news right away.

Interesting analysis. Wonder if the other websites intentionally held off on posting it to check it out (how serious was it? Just a couple yahoos on mySpace, or a real threat?) or if they actually got beat. I'd like to know...
